While it may be “easier” to hire a company to do this for you, there is nothing that they do that you can’t do yourself. Searching online for credit repair tips can yield amazing results. You will need to do a LOT of research starting out, but once you learn it then it’s not difficult at all. There are a ton of people that are willing to give a hand and help out for free, that it seems a waste to pay somebody to do the exact same thing.

I think if I ever get my credit stolen, there will be hell to pay. I would make sure I could do it on my own. It is my credit score and I shouldn’t have to rely on a company to fix it. I should be able to do it easily.

I think that third party companies can be helpful in repairing your credit though — they may have a wealth of knowledge that you don’t have, and some insider tips that you don’t know about.
